The family operating system for moving

Moving your family is
200 tasks, 18 months,
and one very tired brain.

Don't Panic holds the whole move — every task, every pound, every box, every document — so it stops living in one person's head at 3am.

Moving abroad, or moving across town. Same calm, different plan.

Why this exists

Nobody warns you about the middle part

The decision is exciting. The landing is joyful. The eighteen months in between is a second unpaid job that lands, almost always, on one person.

The invisible project

School records, police certificates, pet blood tests that must happen six months before the flight. Around 200 tasks, and no employer, agent or council hands you the list. One parent becomes the project manager, quietly, on top of everything else.

Everything, everywhere

The plan lives in a spreadsheet. The quotes live in an inbox. The mover's inventory is a carbon-copy sheet in a drawer. The passports are... somewhere safe. When one question needs four places, everything feels like it's slipping.

The long middle

Visa limbo. The wobbles at 2am. Kids asking questions you don't have answers to. Grandparents pretending they're fine. No tool on earth treats the emotional load as part of the move. It is most of the move.

What it is — and what it isn't

We are not a visa service.

Agents and lawyers get you the visa. That's one task out of two hundred. Don't Panic is the home for everything else — the family operating system for the whole move, from "should we?" to the first month settled.

What we carry

  • A plain-English plan tailored to your family, timeline and destination — no jargon, ever
  • A budget that fills itself from your tasks, and quotes from movers and agents compared side by side
  • Your mover's packing inventory, photographed once and read in by AI — every box searchable, signed off on delivery day
  • A vault for the documents that matter, and the hand-luggage list that never goes in the container
  • The emotional thread: your why, kept safe and shown back to you on the hard days

What we deliberately don't do

  • Apply for your visa, or give immigration, legal or tax advice — we tell you when to get it, and hold what comes back
  • Sell your details to agents, movers or anyone else
  • Pretend a checklist is the whole story — a move is a family project, not an admin project

The clearer we are about the edges, the more you can trust the middle.

The real number

What will your move really cost?

Most families find out line by line, invoice by invoice. Answer six questions and see the honest range up front — including the costs nobody warns you about.

    How it works

    One thread at a time

    1

    Tell us about your move

Five minutes: where from, where to, who's coming, what's keeping you up at night.

    2

    Work the plan

A tailored plan opens at exactly your stage. Tasks hold your notes, quotes, costs and files. The budget and the boxes take care of themselves.

    3

    Land well

Delivery day sign-off, the settling-in tasks, and your own words about why you did this — shown back to you when you've done it.
